Deformation of Outer Representations of Galois Group

To a hyperbolic smooth curve defined over a number-field one naturally associates an "anabelian" representation of the absolute Galois group of the base field landing in outer automorphism group of the algebraic fundamental group. In this paper, we introduce several deformation problems for Lie-algebra versions of the above representation and show that, this way we get a richer structure than t...

Deformation of Outer Representations of Galois Group II

This paper is devoted to deformation theory of "anabelian" representations of the absolute Galois group landing in outer automorphism group of the algebraic fundamental group of a hyperbolic smooth curve defined over a number-field. In the first part of this paper, we obtained several universal deformations for Lie-algebra versions of the above representation using the Schlessinger criteria for...

galois extension for a compact quantum group

The aim of this paper is to introduce the quantum analogues of torsors for a compact quantum group and to investigate their relations with representation theory. Let A be a Hopf algebra over a field k. A theorem of Ulbrich asserts that there is an equivalence of categories between neutral fibre functors on the category of finitedimensional A-comodules and A-Galois extensions of k. We give the c...

2. Harmonic Analysis on Compact Groups

These notes recall some general facts about Fourier analysis on a compact group K. They will be applied eventually to compact Lie groups, particularly to the maximal compact subgroups of real reductive Lie groups. But much of the early material makes no use of the Lie group structure, so I’ll work without it for as long as possible. Thanks to Ben Harris (2007) for correcting a number of slips o...

The theory of profinite groups is flourishing! This is the first immediate observation from looking at the four books on the subject which have come out in the last two years. The subject, which only two decades ago was somewhat remote, has made its way to mainstream mathematics in several different ways. What is a profinite group? A profinite group G is a topological group which is Hausdorff, ...
